Our client Mfg co located near Syosset, NY(MUST BE LOCAL-NO RELOCATIONS) is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer who owns the design, implementation, and evolution of clients enterprise data platform. Must come from small to mid size companies and able to work independently not with a large team-You will be accountable for ETL pipelines, data warehouse and enterprise data modeling as client transitions from an on-premises SQL environment to a modern cloud-based analytics platform. You will be responsible for end-to end ownership from design through production support. Acts as the technical decision-maker for data platform standards and patterns. Comfortable operating in environments with evolving requirements and incomplete data.Ability to translate available data from pipelines into value-added analytics to the business's benefit. Develop and maintain ETL and ETL pipelines using Fabric data factory, SQL and notebooks. Apply scripting or notebook-based approaches , including python/r/etc where appropriate, for data transformation, automation and data quality enforcement. Integrate data from AS400 ERP, Salesforce, Hubspot and other SaaS platforms. Design analytical data models, fact and dimension tables, and curate data marts. Operate in an Agile delivery environment. Optimize platform performance, scalability, reliability and costs. Design and implement data quality checks, monitoring, alerting recovery mechanisms, and governance control. Required experience:
Bachelors degree in CS, Information systems or equivalent exp.
5 yrs plus exp in data engineering, including enterprise data warehouse and analytics platforms.
Advanced SQL skills with strong analytical and enterprise data modeling exp.
Experience integrating ERP systems, CRM, and SaaS data sources.
Exp supporting BI tools, including tableau(phasing out) and Power BI
Strong comm. skills with technical and business teams.
Ability to bring solutions to the business that can be impactful and provide the strategic architectural solutions.
