contract assignment with one of our premier
Financial Services clients in
Irving, TX.
Responsibilities :
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Agile Scrum Master to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a servant-leader who can guide and coach our software development teams on Agile and Scrum principles and practices. You will be responsible for ensuring the team lives by the values and practices of Scrum, removing impediments, and fostering an environment of continuous improvement, collaboration, and high performance.
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives, ensuring they are positive, productive, and kept within the timebox.
- Guide and coach the Scrum Team on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers.
- Act as a servant-leader for the Scrum Team, helping to remove impediments and protect the team from outside interruptions and distractions.
- Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency and radiating information.
- Support the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
- Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.
- Facilitate discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
- Utilize Jira and other Agile project management tools to track team progress, manage backlogs, and provide key metrics and reports on team performance.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Scrum Master role for a software development team.
- Valid Scrum Master certification (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM)).
- Extensive, hands-on knowledge and experience with Jira for Agile project management.
- Expert-level understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and various Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
- Proven experience in coaching teams on Agile principles and Scrum practices.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively remove impediments.
Preferred Skills:
- Advanced Scrum certifications (e.g., A-CSM, PSM II).
- Experience in a technical role (e.g., developer, QA) prior to becoming a Scrum Master.
- Experience with other Agile tools like Confluence.
