Job : AI Strategist (Business Analyst Advanced)
Location: Columbia, SC, USA
Develop and lead agency-wide AI strategy
Improve operational efficiency using AI
Enhance citizen services
Ensure compliance with state & federal regulations
Establish responsible and ethical AI governance
Responsibilities:
Co-create AI strategy with executive leadership and Office of Technology (OT)
Maintain prioritized AI use case portfolio
Establish responsible AI governance framework
Ensure regulatory compliance (state & federal)
Define ethical AI principles (fairness, transparency, human oversight)
Conduct privacy & bias impact assessments
Oversee audits and compliance reporting
Act as Business Product Owner for AI solutions
Define KPIs and measure AI project success
Lead AI change management and adoption initiatives
Develop AI training programs and communications
Participate in vendor evaluations and procurement
Align AI initiatives with cybersecurity & data governance policies
Publish performance and impact reports
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of AI technologies & Machine Learning
Data governance knowledge
Strategic planning experience
Change management experience
Stakeholder engagement skills
Project planning knowledge
Ability to work with senior leadership
Strong communication skills
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor s degree
Program management experience
Experience with AI technologies & ML
Experience in government or public sector
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, or related field
5+ years progressive experience in AI strategy / data analytics / IT
2+ years hands-on AI & ML experience
5+ years strategic planning & change management
5+ years government/public sector experience
