Job DescriptionGeneral FunctionThe role is part of an agile development squad responsible for delivering new features and enhancing system capabilities using modern software engineering tools and practices. The position follows established standards and guidelines set by communities of practice and contributes to a culture of continuous improvement. The role supports effective risk management by sharing information openly, raising concerns appropriately, and adhering to all policies and procedures. Actions and decisions are expected to reflect a commitment to a positive customer and colleague experience. Within the organization's risk appetite, the role consistently identifies, assesses, manages, monitors, and reports risks of all types.
Duties and Responsibilities- Implement new features while maintaining high standards of software quality.
- Document and share technical knowledge to support team learning and development.
- Participate in communities of practice, follow established best practices, engage in code reviews, and contribute to knowledge sharing.
- Stay current with relevant technologies and industry trends.
- Assist in researching and resolving customer issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; up to 5 years of software development experience.
- Knowledge of object-oriented design and experience with one or more programming languages such as COBOL, SAS, or other open-system languages.
- Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
- Experience with any of the following is a plus: Snowflake environment tools (e.g., Elevate, Switchboard, DBT), ETL processes, and file transfer using sFTP.
- Understanding of basic networking and firewall concepts.
- Experience with version control systems, preferably Git/GitHub.
- Understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
- Familiarity with software security best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
