About the Opportunity

A well-established industrial engineering and power systems organization is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership for complex rotating equipment, power transmission systems, and aftermarket engineering solutions. This role will support engineering projects involving electric motors, generators, control systems, reliability improvements, reverse engineering initiatives, and customer-specific applications across multiple industries.

This position offers the opportunity to work on highly engineered products, solve complex technical challenges, and contribute to both new application development and legacy equipment modernization programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for electrical engineering projects involving motors, generators, control systems, and related power transmission equipment.
  • Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and failure investigations for electrical and electromechanical systems.
  • Develop engineering solutions for equipment upgrades, redesigns, and aftermarket support initiatives.
  • Review and approve technical specifications, designs, and documentation related to engineered products and replacement components.
  • Support customer-facing teams by providing technical expertise during proposal development, product selection, and application engineering activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups including manufacturing, operations, quality, service, and project management.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineering personnel and support resource planning within the engineering function.
  • Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with applicable industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 15+ years of electrical engineering experience within industrial equipment, power systems, rotating machinery, or heavy manufacturing environments.
  • 3+ years of engineering leadership, project leadership, or management experience.
  • Strong experience with AC/DC motors, generators, motor controls, drives, and related electromechanical equipment.
  • Hands-on experience performing failure analysis, troubleshooting, and reliability assessments.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as IEEE, NEMA, EASA, and similar organizations.
  • Experience supporting engineered-to-order products, equipment upgrades, or aftermarket service programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in power generation, utilities, industrial processing, or heavy equipment manufacturing.
  • Experience supporting legacy electrical equipment modernization and reverse engineering projects.
  • Knowledge of motor-generator systems, excitation systems, and industrial control technologies.
  • Project management or technical team leadership experience.
