The Senior Desktop Support Specialist plays a critical role in delivering advanced IT support within Global Laboratory and Manufacturing environments. This position provides Tier 2/3 technical support, ensuring system reliability, infrastructure security, and strict regulatory compliance across highly specialized operational environments.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in managing lab and manufacturing systems, executing critical system updates and patching, and collaborating with cross-functional global teams. A background in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or similarly regulated environments is highly preferred.

responsibilities:
Provide high-level technical support for localized Lab and Manufacturing systems, ensuring minimal operational downtime and strict adherence to established SLAs.
Own, manage, and resolve complex lifecycle tickets within ServiceNow related to the manufacturing and laboratory footprint.
Deploy, maintain, and audit software packages, operating system updates, and security tools using SCCM (or similar endpoint management platforms).
Collaborate with Global Lab IT infrastructure teams and specialized technical groups to troubleshoot complex, cross-system issues and deliver comprehensive root-cause analysis (RCA).
Partner closely with support teams on detailed investigations, presenting technical analysis findings and documentation related to SLA Incident Management.
Author, review, and maintain rigorous engineering and technical documents, including standard work instructions, validation test plans, and Knowledge Base (KB) articles.
Support regional and global IT projects to ensure complete alignment with corporate compliance and security standards. Maintain highly accurate system configuration records for audit and operational readiness.
qualifications:
- 6+ years of dedicated experience in desktop, workstation, or end-user support, with distinct, hands-on exposure to laboratory and/or manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate ambiguity, show strong personal initiative, and make sound technical decisions with minimal supervision.
- Proven track record of adjusting effectively to new tasks, changing priorities, and emerging technical responsibilities.
- Strong, foundational knowledge of Windows Desktop and Server operating systems; working experience with Linux and Cloud Services is highly valued.
- Practical knowledge of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, File Sharing, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), databases, and fundamental Network & Firewall Administration.
- Familiarity with PowerShell, SQL querying, or similar scripting languages to automate routine operational tasks and deployment checks.
- Solid understanding of regulated environments and biotechnology/life science industry data practices is a significant plus.
- A strong track record of solving complex hardware/software conflicts and driving results under pressure.
- Highly skilled in collaborating with international teams and effectively engaging diverse business stakeholders.
- BS/BA Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.
- Practical experience working within an ITIL framework.
- Microsoft Accreditation (e.g., Modern Desktop Administrator, Azure Fundamentals) or equivalent relevant certifications.
