IT - Corporate Functions Technology Project Manager for a
CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier
Insurance services clients in
New York, NY.
Responsibilities:
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering projects across cross functional business and technology teams. This role drives project outcomes by managing scope, schedule, budget, risks, and communication while ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations. The Project Manager works in a highly collaborative environment, building trusted relationships and ensuring high quality project execution from initiation through implementation.
- Lead end-to-end project lifecycle activities, including planning, requirements, execution, testing, deployment, and postlaunch stabilization.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, resource plans, and communication strategies.
- Manage day-to-day project activities, ensuring tasks stay on track and obstacles are removed.
- Monitor project KPIs and drive accountability across cross functional teams.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality work products that meet business expectations.
- Facilitate effective communication across project teams, leadership, and external partners.
- Build strong relationships across functional groups to support project success.
- Document and present project updates, status reports, and executive summaries.
- Partner with product, engineering, and business teams operating within agile methodologies.
- Facilitate sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and backlog prioritization where applicable.
- Ensure adherence to PMO standards, governance frameworks, and change management processes.
- Identify project risks, dependencies, and issues early; develop mitigation and resolution strategies.
- Manage scope changes through structured change control processes.
- Maintain project health through thoughtful prioritization and proactive management.
- Lead project discovery sessions and requirement gathering workshops.
- Assess business needs and translate them into project goals and actionable plans.
- Support strategic initiatives and ongoing operational improvements across the organization.
- Bring forward recommendations based on industry knowledge, best practices, and technology capabilities.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 7+ years of experience managing medium-to-large scale business or technology projects.
- Demonstrated success leading cross functional teams and delivering complex projects.
- Strong understanding of project management frameworks (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship building skills.
- Proven ability to drive alignment, resolve conflict, and facilitate decision making.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with Workday, MS teams, and in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, Asana).
Preferred Skills:
- PMP, CAPM, Agile/Scrum certification a plus.
- Experience managing technology, HR, finance, or systems-based projects.
- Prior experience working with distributed teams across time zones.
