Field Cost Control Support professionals to join a large, greenfield construction project in Wilson, NC. This is a
hands-on, field-focused cost controls role supporting a multi-billion-dollar, highly regulated manufacturing facility.
You'll work closely with the onsite Project Controls and PMO teams to validate field progress, reconcile contractor invoices, and support accurate cost reporting and forecasting. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being
in the field, digging into the details, and ensuring cost data truly reflects what's been built.
What You'll Be DoingField Cost Verification- Perform field verification of installed work with a strong cost focus (not scheduling).
- Validate contractor progress against:
- Payment applications
- Schedule of Values (SOV)
- Schedule of Value line items
- Reconcile invoiced amounts with actual field progress.
Cost Controls & Forecasting Support- Support monthly cost reporting, cash flow analysis, and forecasting.
- Actively gather and validate cost data from the field.
- Assist with Earned Value Management (EVM) tracking.
- Identify potential cost recovery opportunities when field progress does not align with forecasted spend.
- Track forecasted, actual, committed, and remaining costs.
Collaboration & Reporting- Work directly with the onsite Project Controls Lead and PMO team.
- Partner with construction management and contractors to validate cost and progress data.
- Support the on-time delivery of:
- Monthly cost reports
- Executive Summary Reports (ESRs)
- Cash flow and forecast reports
Tools & Skills You'll Use- Advanced Microsoft Excel
- Multi-tab cost workbooks
- Complex formulas and summaries
- Pivot tables, charts, and visuals
- Ability to independently analyze data and create a plan of attack
- Exposure to Power BI for reporting and visualization.
- Strong understanding of:
- Construction payment applications
- Schedule of Values (SOV)
- Earned Value Management (EVM)
- Navisworks
- Navigate 3D models
- Review design documents and installed scope directly from the model
- Estimating experience using construction drawings, plans, and 3D models.
What We're Looking For- 7-10+ years of experience in:
- Cost controls
- Construction cost management
- Project controls on large capital projects
- Comfortable working on active construction sites.
- Life sciences experience preferred.
- Candidates from other highly regulated industries (e.g., oil & gas) are welcome.
- Bachelor's degree in one of the following (or related):
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Process Engineering
- Instrumentation & Controls Engineering
- PMP certification preferred.

- Clean, timely reconciliation of contractor invoices.
- Reliable cost data supporting monthly reporting and forecasts.
- On-time delivery of cost reports, ESRs, and cash flow analyses.
