Role Overview
An experienced Lead Java Developer is sought to leverage technology skills for developing business solutions within the healthcare industry. This role involves working with modern frameworks for container, cloud, and serverless Java/Linux-based solutions. The position offers an opportunity to contribute technical thought leadership within agile development teams, manage complex business integrations, and implement secure, high-performance services across the organization. The work is divided between hands-on development and architecture, focusing on heavy backend and event-driven microservices.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver complex, long-term projects involving multiple teams.
- Oversee projects in terms of architecture, design, implementation, and maintenance.
- Lead the development of new systems and technologies, ensuring alignment with functional and non-functional requirements.
- Develop prototypes and proof-of-concepts to facilitate new technology adoption.
- Establish and enforce quality standards and guidelines for coding patterns and code reviews.
- Serve as a technical lead, providing guidance and reviewing the work of other team members.
- Advise on and set up testing frameworks and governance for development processes.
- Mentor and train developers, helping them navigate technical challenges.
Required Qualifications
Experience:- A minimum of 12 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on hands-on implementation as an Architect, Technical Lead, or consultant.
- 4 to 7 years of specific architecture experience.
- Demonstrated lead experience and a multifaceted personality.
Technical Skills:- Proficiency in Java 17/21, Java SE, and Java EE.
- Strong experience with the Spring Framework, including Spring Boot and Spring MVC.
- Experience developing RESTful web services and working with microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of messaging services such as Kafka or IBM MQ.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
- Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git) and build tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle).
- Knowledge of unit testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Mockito).
- Experience with SQL development and database management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the healthcare domain, including knowledge of FHIR and HL7.
- Development experience building data pipelines for healthcare data.
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases for large-scale enterprise solutions.
- Experience developing container-based and serverless applications.
Compensation & Benefits
This position offers a pay rate of $65.00 to $80.00 per hour. A range of supplemental benefits is available, including medical, dental, and vision insurance plans.
