Summary
Our client, an international bank, seeks an IT Transformation Manager.
The Transformation Manager will lead and coordinate the end-to-end migration of the core banking system and related applications to new targeted platforms. This role is critical to ensuring a controlled, secure, and timely transformation while working alongside key stakeholders to maintain business continuity and regulatory compliance.
The successful candidate, reporting to the General Manager, will act as the single point of coordination across IT, business lines, vendors, and integrators, ensuring alignment on scope, planning, risks, budget, and delivery.
Responsibilities
Ensure Key Deliverables
- Establish a core banking migration roadmap and execution plan
- Develop a data migration and cutover strategy
- Design integrated testing and go-live plans
- Maintain a risk register and drive mitigation actions
- Deliver regular executive reporting and steering committee updates
Program & Project Management
- Direct the overall core banking migration program, including planning, execution, and delivery
- Formulate, with internal stakeholders and key vendors, roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, and critical paths
- Orchestrate multiple workstreams across business lines and branch departments (core banking, interfaces, data migration, testing, infrastructure, security)
- Facilitate testing planning, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Systems Integration Testing (SIT), and End-to-End Testing (E2E)
- Coordinate milestones and align resources across internal teams, vendors, and partners
- Drive project delivery to meet timeline, scope, and budget objectives
Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination
- Serve as the primary liaison among internal stakeholders, vendors, business units, and IT teams
- Convene and lead steering committees, project committees, and status review meetings
- Challenge and hold vendors and partners accountable for quality and delivery commitments
Migration & Change Management
- Implement training, communications, and operational transition plans
- Guide business process changes and ensure organizational readiness
- Execute data migration strategies, cutover planning, and go-live activities
- Enforce robust testing strategies across all migration phases
Risk, Compliance & Governance
- Evaluate and mitigate program risks and interdependencies
- Uphold compliance with regulatory, security, and operational resilience requirements
- Preserve comprehensive documentation, controls, and audit trails
- Escalate issues and initiate remediation actions proactively
Requirements
- 8-12+ years of experience in IT Transformation, including change management for core banking system migrations
- Proven experience leading core banking or mission-critical financial systems migrations
- Understanding of banking operations and regulatory constraints
- Solid experience working with vendors, system integrators, and offshore teams
- Excellent project management skills
- Strong communication and management capabilities
- Knowledge of modern application architectures
- Business analytical skill to provide Business Requirement Documentation (BRDs)
