Rate of Pay: $110,654.96 to $151,700.00 per Year

Duties: Perform systems engineering related to systems integration, design, design build, construction and implementation of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and signal system projects. Conduct day-to-day high-level systems engineering and design tasks. Verify the work of project engineering teams, checking and ensuring tasks are completed to technical, schedule and cost requirements. Identify and coordinate with other technical disciplines and clients as required on technical aspects. Evaluate engineering problems and consult with technical experts, as necessary, to develop cost effective and robust solutions. Identify and apply appropriate design aids. Assist with the preparation of bid documents, provide information for reports and participate in particular investigations as required. Undertake presentations to clients and senior management. Prepare feasibility studies, designs, specifications, program and cost estimates for specific jobs. Stay current with advances in technology applicable to the delivery of leading-edge ITS solutions.

Less than 10% domestic (U.S.) travel required.

Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, ITS and Communications Systems Design, or Civil Engineering, or related field and 4 years of experience.

Position requires:

1. Performing design, integration, and testing of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) field infrastructure;

2. Performing traffic engineering, traffic impact analysis, and video transmission and distribution;

3. Designing smart cities infrastructure for fiber and wireless communications, and fiber optic design including outside plant and structure cabling;

4. Using connected and autonomous vehicle technology within ITS design;

5. Utilizing Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) and Integrated Corridor Management (ICM);

6. Performing ITS design including ITS device placement i.e. Dynamic Message Signs (DMS), Lane Control Signs (LCS), Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Weigh-in-Motion (WIM), Lidar, Vehicle Detection Stations (VDS) and Communication network; and

7. Costing and estimating ITS Systems.
