SCM to Panvalet Migration Specialist

Introduction:

This position is for a SCM to Panvalet Migration Specialist who will lead the end-to-end migration from Panvalet to Git platforms for our client, IBM. The role involves designing and implementing target architecture, defining Git standards, building CI/CD pipelines, integrating modern developer tooling, and providing training and mentorship to teams.

Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end SCM migration from Panvalet to Git platforms
• Design and implement target layered architecture
• Define Git standards
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Jenkins
• Integrate modern developer tooling for seamless mainframe development
• Implement DBB YAML-based build pipelines
• Create comprehensive documentation and runbooks
• Train and mentor teams on Git workflows and CI/CD practices
• Provide troubleshooting and continuous improvement
• Act as a technical advisor on modernization strategy

Requirements:

• 12+ years of experience in mainframe development and architecture
• Proven experience migrating from legacy SCM tools to Git platforms
• Hands-on expertise with Git platforms
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins
• Experience implementing mainframe DevOps using DBB, Zowe CLI, and modern pipelines
• Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, and familiarity with DB2, CICS, JES, and USS
• Experience with code quality/security tools such as SonarQube
• Strong scripting skills in Shell, Python, or Groovy
