Where You Will Work

Our office is located in the Lower Garden District of New Orleans, Louisiana. Employees in New Orleans mostly follow a hybrid schedule where they are required to work in office, attend in-person meetings or training and may also collaborate virtually. New Orleans is a popular tourist destination known for its rich history, architecture, cultural arts, music, and cuisine. Many great hotels, galleries, restaurants, and museums are a short walk from the office.

What You Will Do

Under close supervision, organize and execute designated instrument and control engineering tasks and projects, ensuring successful completion within defined schedule and cost. You will perform engineering design tasks for assigned projects, including modeling, calculations, drawings, and specifications while maintaining accurate records throughout the project life cycle. In this role, you develop, prepare, and review technical documentation and reports to support design decisions and project requirements, participate in project meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate engineering solutions into overall project plans, and conduct design reviews and evaluate vendor proposals to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company requirements. As an Instrument/Control Engineer I, you utilize engineering software and tools to model, simulate, and analyze design components, assist in resolving technical issues during construction and commissioning phases. You contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and knowledge sharing within the project office and perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring To Freeport

  • Bachelor's degree in Instrument/Control Engineering or an appropriate engineering discipline with no experience required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Instrumentation and Controls deliverables such as Piping and Instrument Diagrams (PIDs), Input/Output Lists (I/O), AUTOCAD drawings, and Database lists
  • Introductory knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
  • Ability to research, analyze information, and draw valid conclusions
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in a capital project design office
  • Experience with mining and metallurgical process facilities

What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $80,000 - $110,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
