If you are seeking a fast-paced position focused on developing innovative solutions for the Space-Based Interceptor mission, this opportunity is designed for you.

Key Responsibilities

Missile Seeker Design & Integration:
  • Provide technical leadership for the design, development, and integration of kill vehicle subsystems, with an emphasis on advanced electro-optical (EO/IR) and and/or radio frequency (RF) missile seeker capabilities.
  • Evaluate state-of-the-art systems that meet mission-specific performance and sensitivity requirements.

System Requirements Development:
  • Define detailed engineering requirements, technical performance parameters, and mission-specific interfaces for EO, RF, and IR seeker payloads in compliance with Department of War standards.

Technical Analysis:
  • Conduct rigorous analyses on the performance of electro-optical, RF, and infrared Seekers within expected deployment conditions.
  • Evaluate missile seeker efficiency using advanced techniques such as RF signal propagation analysis, IR spectrum evaluation, and optical system calibration under varying environmental conditions.
  • Collaborate with materials, optics, and antenna design engineers to evaluate optimized systems for missile seeker performance

Test & Validation:
  • Lead Seeker subsystem testing campaigns, focusing on seeker component validation and calibration.
  • Oversee development of test plans and procedures for environmental testing (e.g., vibration, thermal vacuum, EMI/EMC) specific to EO/RF/IR systems to ensure operational performance under space conditions.
  • Evaluate sensor alignment, stray light analysis, and functional validation of EO and IR subsystems integrated with RF payloads.

Risk Management:
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks associated with seeker payloads, ensuring resilience and reliability through all mission phases.

Collaboration:
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including optical and RF engineers, materials scientists, Guidance Navigation & Control (GNC) specialists, software architects, and program managers, to ensure seamless integration of missile seeker technologies , including structural dynamics, thermal modeling, and electromagnetic interference (EMI) evaluation.

Documentation & Reporting:
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, such as requirements specifications, test reports, and performance analyses, for EO, RF, and IR payload developments.
  • Present findings and progress metrics to internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating alignment with program objectives.

Required Qualifications

Technical Expertise:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of EO/IR Seeker design including imaging sensors, targeting algorithms, and missile seeker technologies.
  • Experience with space environment factors influencing seeker operation, such as radiation shielding, optical material durability, temperature regulation, and signal interference.
  • Familiarity with Department of War standards for space systems development.
  • Experience or knowledge of robust sensitivity and detection models for missile seeker performance.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field with 15 years of related experience; Masters degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in Seeker design and/or evaluation, development, integration, and testing.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and expereience with defense industry operations and/or military systems

Required Security Clearance:
  • Must have Active Secret Clearance with TS/SCI Eligibility.
