Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Data Architect with a proven background in supporting mergers and acquisitions (M&A) as well as hands-on expertise in migrating data from non-SAP systems to SAP platforms. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimizing data architectures that support business integration, transformation, and scalability during and after M&A activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of enterprise data architecture strategies to support business objectives, specifically during mergers and acquisitions.
- Develop and execute data migration plans from non-SAP systems (such as legacy databases, third-party ERPs, or custom applications) to SAP environments, ensuring data integrity, quality, and security.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and third-party vendors to gather requirements, assess current state, and define future-state data models and migration roadmaps.
- Conduct data profiling, mapping, cleansing, and transformation activities to facilitate seamless integration into SAP systems.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with data migration and integration during M&A processes, including compliance and regulatory considerations.
- Establish data governance frameworks and best practices to ensure consistent data management across merged entities.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to project teams throughout the data migration lifecycle.
- Create and maintain documentation related to data architecture, migration procedures, and post-go-live support.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience as a Data Architect, Data Migration Specialist, or equivalent role.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting mergers and acquisitions from a data architecture and integration perspective.
- Proven track record of successfully migrating data from non-SAP systems to SAP (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP BW).
- Strong understanding of SAP data structures, ETL tools, and migration methodologies (such as SAP Data Services, LSMW, or SAP Migration Cockpit).
- Expertise in data modeling, data governance, data quality, and master data management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working in complex, fast-paced environments involving multiple stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in SAP Data Management or SAP Architecture.
- Experience with cloud-based SAP solutions and hybrid environments.
- Prior participation in large-scale M&A integration projects.
- Knowledge of compliance regulations (GDPR, SOX, etc.) related to data migration and integration.
