Position Summary & Responsibilities

An OITD Tax Analyst (OneSource Indirect Tax Determination) is a specialized finance professional who manages and optimizes the integration between an ERP system, such as SAP S/4HANA, and the Thomson Reuters OneSource tax engine. 

This role is essential for multinational companies that automate complex global indirect tax calculations—including VAT, GST, and Sales & Use Tax—using a centralized cloud-based determination engine. 

Key Responsibilities

• System Configuration & Integration: Managing the OneSource Integration for SAP, which includes mapping SAP data fields to the determination engine to ensure accurate tax results.
• Tax Determination Management: Ensuring the engine applies the correct tax rules and rates for over 200 countries, covering diverse scenarios like reverse charges and tax-only credit memos.
• Monitoring & Error Resolution: Using the Application Interface Framework (AIF) and SAP calculation logs to troubleshoot replication errors and data discrepancies between the ERP and OneSource.
• Master Data Governance: Maintaining tax-relevant master data (e.g., product taxability codes and customer tax certificates) to drive automated decisions.
• Compliance & Reporting: Supporting the preparation and reconciliation of tax returns, ensuring all transaction logs in SAP match the output from the tax engine for audit purposes. 

Core Skills & Experience

• Software Proficiency: Deep expertise in OneSource Indirect Tax (OITD) and SAP FICO (specifically FI, SD, and MM modules).
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with XML mapping, SOAP protocols, and SAP Development Workbench for interface setups.
• Regulatory Expertise: Strong understanding of global indirect tax laws, nexus definitions, and e-invoicing mandates.
• Experience Level: Typically requires 7–14 years of experience in tax technology for "Expert" or "Lead" positions
