About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AWS Cloud Architect to lead the design, implementation, and governance of secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in AWS architecture, cloud security, DevOps, automation, and enterprise cloud governance.
This role will partner with engineering, infrastructure, security, and business teams to drive cloud transformation initiatives while ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and cost optimization across enterprise-scale AWS environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement enterprise-grade AWS cloud architectures that are secure, scalable, highly available, and cost-efficient.
- Lead cloud adoption and modernization initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and enterprise architecture standards.
- Develop and enforce cloud security best practices, including IAM, encryption, network security, governance, and compliance controls.
- Architect and manage multi-account AWS environments using industry-standard security and governance frameworks.
- Implement and maintain AWS Secrets Manager solutions for secure credential management and automated secret rotation.
- Configure and optimize AWS CloudTrail, logging, monitoring, and audit capabilities to support compliance and security investigations.
- Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) adoption using CloudFormation, Terraform, or equivalent technologies.
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native DevOps practices to improve deployment quality, reliability, and speed.
- Monitor cloud environments for security vulnerabilities, risks, and policy violations while ensuring timely remediation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business and technical requirements into robust cloud solutions.
- Lead incident response efforts for cloud-related security and operational events.
- Optimize cloud resource utilization and spending through architecture reviews, rightsizing, and cost management strategies.
- Develop architectural standards, blueprints, operational runbooks, and technical documentation.
- Mentor engineers and architects on AWS best practices, cloud security, automation, and emerging technologies.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, cloud engineering, or AWS infrastructure administration.
- Strong hands-on experience designing and supporting large-scale AWS environments.
- Deep expertise in AWS security services, IAM, networking, encryption, governance, and compliance frameworks.
- Extensive experience with AWS Secrets Manager, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, and related AWS security services.
- Proven experience building automated infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, etc.).
- Strong understanding of DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud automation practices.
- Experience managing multi-account AWS environments in enterprise settings.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead technical discussions, architecture reviews, and cloud transformation initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS Control Tower, AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, Config, and Inspector.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
- Knowledge of scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices.
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and enterprise integration patterns.
- Certifications
One or more of the following certifications is strongly preferred:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional
- AWS Certified Security Specialty
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional
