Job SummaryThe Senior Cloud and AI Architect is an experienced professional responsible for designing and implementing secure, scalable, and ethical AI solutions that support client missions. This role combines advanced AI and machine learning expertise with cloud architecture leadership to modernize public sector operations, improve citizen engagement, and enable data-driven decision-making while ensuring compliance, transparency, and trust.
The architect will collaborate with stakeholders at all organizational levels, support multiple teams and projects, mentor technical architects, and partner with GTA to design, develop, and implement enterprise IT architecture, AWS cloud solutions, and advanced AI/ML capabilities across State Agencies.
Core Qualifications - 10+ years of overall IT experience, including at least 5 years of enterprise full life cycle architecture experience.
- 5-8 years of hands-on application architecture experience, including application modernization.
- Extensive experience designing, architecting, and developing applications on AWS.
- Strong experience with solution architecture across private, public, and hybrid cloud environments (IaaS, PaaS, and cloud services).
- Proven expertise designing secure, scalable, and ethical AI/ML solutions using cloud or hybrid infrastructure.
- Advanced knowledge of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Natural Language Processing.
- Experience evaluating AI platforms, frameworks, and tools such as AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, Google Vertex AI, and PyTorch.
- Experience designing secure and compliant AI/ML architectures using public cloud or hybrid environments.
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in application design, solution architecture, AWS/Public Cloud, and AI/ML platforms.
Preferred Qualifications - AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification.
- Experience working with State or Local Government organizations.
- Enterprise-wide cloud and AI integration experience.
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and chatbot development.
- Knowledge of cloud and AI integration standards and best practices.
- Understanding of public sector compliance frameworks including FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST AI RMF, and NIST 800-53.
- Experience with Responsible AI, AI ethics, and bias mitigation frameworks.
- Experience supporting federal, state, or municipal digital transformation initiatives.
- Cloud architecture or AI certifications from AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
