Senior QA Automation Engineer in the Austin, TX or Southlake, TX area with deep expertise in quality assurance, test automation, and cybersecurity platforms. The ideal candidate brings strong technical acumen, proven experience designing comprehensive test strategies, and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams to ensure product quality, stability, and security.
If you are interested in the following requirements please email your resume directly to Contract length: 6+ monthsLocations: Austin TX or Westlake, TX - 4 days onsite/1 day remote Rate: $64-$67/hr W2Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and execute API, UI, scheduled job, and database test scenarios to validate functional and non-functional requirements.
- Create and maintain automated test scripts for web-enabled applications using modern automation frameworks and tools.
- Collaborate closely with Agile teams to support iterative development including daily standups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Utilize JIRA or similar case management tools to track test cases, defects, and testing progress.
- Perform advanced quality assurance tasks to validate application reliability, system integrity, and business process accuracy.
- Support testing efforts for Cybersecurity applications and IAM technologies, including platforms such as Zscaler, SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ), PingID, and HYPR.
- Partner with cross-functional groups-engineering, product, cybersecurity, and operations-to communicate findings, risks, and recommendations in a clear and effective manner.
- Apply deep understanding of SDLC, CI/CD practices, and modern testing frameworks to drive improvements in test coverage, automation, and delivery pipelines.
- Contribute to QA best practices, documentation, continuous improvement efforts, and long-term testing strategy.
Required Qualifications- 9+ years of hands-on QA engineering and software testing experience.
- 8+ years developing test automation for web applications.
- 3-5+ years working within Agile/Scrum environments using collaboration tools.
- 2-4+ years working with JIRA or similar test/case management platforms.
- Experience supporting and validating Cyber Security tools, especially Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems.
- Hands-on experience with security technologies such as:
- Zscaler
- SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ)
- PingID
- HYPR (or similar tools)
- Strong understanding of full software development lifecycle, test methodologies, and quality gates.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to break down technical details for non-technical audiences.
- Knowledge of Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and automated testing practices.
Preferred Skills- Experience designing automation frameworks or enhancing existing ones.
- Familiarity with performance testing, API tools, and service virtualization.
- Exposure to security compliance frameworks or audit processes (IAM, Zero Trust, SOC2, etc.).
