Job Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to implement and provide support to the agency s IT Network infrastructure. The Senior Network Engineer performs day-to-day activities related to the support, documentation, research, analysis, and implementation of the organization s network-related infrastructure. The candidate must have in-depth, considerable knowledge and hands-on experience understanding, documenting, and maintaining network-related infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
The candidate must have considerable knowledge and working experience with enterprise routers, switches, VPN concentrators, firewalls, wireless access points, and load balancers, including the ability to document, set up, configure, upgrade, manage, and troubleshoot these systems.
The successful candidate will be capable of troubleshooting network-related infrastructure and identifying system problems using line monitors, diagnostic software, and test equipment.
The candidate works closely with the organization s IT infrastructure suppliers and stakeholders to gather requirements, specifications, and configurations to ensure they are accurate and up to date.
The candidate is responsible for assisting in troubleshooting and resolving network issues impacting application performance and uptime.
The candidate will assist in overseeing the installation, documentation, and upgrades of various facility data network infrastructure.
The successful candidate will oversee and collaborate with cloud and DevSecOps teams to optimize hybrid connectivity and SD-WAN configurations.
The candidate must have the ability to provide documentation, network architecture topology diagrams, IP schemes, firewall rules, and access controls when required.
The candidate must have the ability to work independently on assigned projects.
Requirements:
- Considerable knowledge and hands-on working experience with enterprise routers, switches, VPN concentrators, firewalls, wireless access points, and load balancers. Full stop.
- Demonstrated and hands-on ability to design, install and troubleshoot local-area and wide-area enterprise networks. Full stop.
- Considerable direct hands-on experience engineering and design experience in the networking industry. Full stop.
- Industry standard networking certification such as Cisco CCNA or Juniper JNCIA-Junos. Full stop.
- Experience monitoring IT environments for compliance with information security, architecture policies, and standards. Full stop.
- Experience creating repeatable, reliable, scalable network architectures with fault tolerance. Full stop.
- Experience performance tuning, monitoring systems, statistics/metrics collection, and disaster recovery. Full stop.
- Experience creating network diagrams using industry standard tools such as Visio. Full stop.
- Experience with networking features and protocols such as ARP, CDP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, VTP, Etherchannel, 802.1Q trunking, HSRP, QoS, multicast, IPsec, RADITACACS+, SNMP, BRI/PRI, and MPLS. Full stop.
- Experience working with SD-WAN. Full stop.
- Experience working with network topology related to Cloud environments. Full stop.
