We are looking for a Finance Data Analyst for our client in Santa Clara, CA

Job Title: Finance Data Analyst

Job Location: Santa Clara, CA

Job Type: Contract

Job Description:

Pay Range: $77hr - $87hr

Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Basic understanding of GAAP accounting principles including P&L and Balance Sheet.
Experience working with structured and unstructured data.
Proficiency with AI tools, particularly Microsoft CoPilot, including the ability to structure prompts for workflow automation.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Experience:

Experience in data analytics and data modeling.
Experience in financial analysis and planning.
Experience working with financial data and reporting systems.
Experience using automation and AI tools for data analysis and workflow optimization.

Responsibilities:

Analyze structured and unstructured data from multiple systems to generate meaningful insights.
Prepare summaries and reports that highlight progress against financial plans and targets.
Collaborate with finance teams and business partners to gather and organize required data.
Translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations aligned with planning cycles.
Monitor capital and operational spending against plan and identify variances or risks.
Update and maintain standard financial reports including P&L and Balance Sheet reports.
Support company-wide financial reporting and planning processes.
Work with cross-functional and global teams to ensure accurate financial analysis and reporting.

Should Have:

Understanding of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) including forecasting, budgeting, and scenario modeling.
Experience building dashboards and automated reporting solutions.
Ability to derive actionable insights from financial data.
Experience with automated data extraction and transformation tools.

Microsoft Excel (Advanced).
GAAP Accounting Principles.
AI Tools (Microsoft CoPilot).
Data Reporting and Dashboard Development.

Qualification and Education:

Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Soft Skills:

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to clearly present analytical findings and recommendations.
Strong collaboration skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
