About the opportunity:This position is part of WaTech's Computing Services Division (CSD), which hosts the Communications and Productivity service. This service provides statewide Microsoft enterprise services, including identity, messaging, collaboration, and device platforms.
As a member of the Productivity Services team, this position provides advanced-level administration, configuration, support, and design for SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and related collaboration services within the M365 Enterprise Shared Tenant. The Productivity Services team supports Office 365 and cloud environments to offer state governmental entities secure, reliable, and customer-focused technology solutions.
As the SharePoint Online Administrator, you will work closely with state and local business managers, agency administrators, system software engineers, technical teams, and service owners to support the integration, governance, and use of SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
This role administers, supports, and helps define policies, application deployment standards, governance, and training for these services within the Enterprise Shared Tenant.
This position supports the protection of state resources through administration, configuration, governance, testing, migration support, incident and request response, and customer consultation of statewide collaboration services.
DutiesSome of what to expect with this role:- Lead the design, application development and implementation of SharePoint Online site collections for the M365 Enterprise Shared Tenant.
- Independently create the agency security groups, delegate permissions, perform restore activities on behalf of agency SharePoint Online administrators.
- Design and create custom workflows based on customer business requirements using tools such as Microsoft Power Automate.
- Provide guidance for agency SharePoint administrators regarding SharePoint Online governance policies based on business needs of customer agency, in accordance with established government regulations and policies.
- Configure and manage global enterprise settings for SharePoint Online features, functions and services.
- Respond to incoming customer incident tickets for changes in the systems, policies, user groups, administration groups, clients access rights and service access.
- Perform SharePoint Online testing and analysis for new releases of software and security practices in the pre-production environment.
- Lead the analysis of customer reported SharePoint Online issues impacting production services, processes and applications.
- Provide migration assistance to SharePoint Online administrators with migrating agency on-premises SharePoint farms to SharePoint Online within the M365 Enterprise Shared Tenant.
- Provide hands-on technical consultation to agency administrators who are creating, deploying, configuring and integrating services into SharePoint Online and Teams, and OneDrive.
QualificationsHere's what we're looking for:- Ten years of information technology experience consulting, business analysis, defining and implementing customer requirements. *A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field may substitute for up to four years of experience. *

- Four years of experience with configuring and managing SharePoint Online and Teams.
- Four years of experience configuring and managing OneDrive.

The incumbent must be available to report in person for activities including, but not limited to, in-office meetings, team coordination, agency events, training sessions or response to critical service issues. Compensation for holidays (including personal holiday) will be proportionate to the number of hours in pay status in the month to that required for full-time employment, excluding all holiday hours. Sick Leave Full-time employees earn eight hours of sick leave per month. Overtime eligible employees who are in pay status for less than 80 hours per month, earn a monthly proportionate to the number of hours in pay status, in the month to that required for full-time employment. Overtime exempt employees who are in pay status for less than 80 hours per month do not earn a monthly accrual of sick leave.

Vacation (Annual Leave)Full-time employees accrue vacation leave at the rates specified in (1) or the applicable collective bargaining agreement (CBA). Full-time employees who are in pay status for less than 80 nonovertime hours in a month do not earn a monthly accrual of vacation leave.
Part-time employees accrue vacation leave hours in accordance with (1) or the applicable collective bargaining agreement (CBA) on a pro rata basis. Vacation leave accrual will be proportionate to the number of hours in pay status, in the month to that required for full-time employment.
Pay status includes hours worked, time on paid leave and paid holiday.
As provided in , an employer may authorize a lump-sum accrual of vacation leave or accelerate the vacation leave accrual rate to support the recruitment and/or retention of a candidate or employee for a Washington Management Service position. Vacation leave accrual rates may only be accelerated using the rates established WAC 357-31-165.
Note: Most agencies follow the civil service rules covering leave and holidays for
exempt employees even though there is no requirement for them to do so. However, agencies are required to adhere to the applicable RCWs pertaining holidays and leave.
Military LeaveWashington State supports members of the armed forces with 21 days paid military leave per year.
Bereavement Leave Most employees whose family member or household member dies, or for loss of pregnancy, are entitled to five (5) days of paid bereavement leave. In addition, the employer may approve other available leave types for the purpose of bereavement leave.
