US-Field Technical Spt Rep II Tier 3 -Pay Rate

Location: Phoenix, Arizona (Partial Remote)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Field Engineer to support customer data centers by resolving hardware and infrastructure issues. This role requires hands-on experience with enterprise-level systems and a strong understanding of data center operations. The position involves travel to various client sites, with a travel requirement of up to 50-75% within a 300-mile weekly radius.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across IT infrastructure, including multi-vendor enterprise systems, servers, storage, and networking.
  • Perform rack and stack, hardware installations, component replacement, disk drive and memory replacements, and hot swaps.
  • Utilize software tools for daily operations and troubleshooting in a data center environment.
  • Provide client-facing support with professionalism and technical expertise.
  • Collaborate with team members during a 45-90 day training period; you will not be expected to work solo during this time.
  • Document daily activities and maintain communication with management and peers.
  • Work overtime and weekends with advance notice for customer installation schedules.
Required Qualifications

Experience: 2-3 years of hands-on experience with servers, cables, racks, workstations, routers/switches, and network infrastructure. An additional two years of relevant professional experience (5-7 years total) is required without a degree.

Education: An Associate's Degree or equivalent in computer science or a related area of study is preferred.

Technical Skills: A basic understanding of Storage theory, Server layout, and Network concepts is necessary. Must have the mechanical aptitude to make component-level repairs using ESD best practices. Familiarity with various computer applications and software tools is required.Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in data center environments is highly preferred.
  • CompTIA+ certification is a plus.
  • Experience with pallet jacks and data center server lifting tools is a plus.
  • Linux, Virtualization, and Windows Server experience is a plus.
Work Environment

This role requires a valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and insurance for travel. Mileage will be reimbursed. Candidates must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and operate manual and power hand tools. The work schedule is typically Monday-Friday, with potential for overtime and weekend work.
