Summary

As a Healthcare Claims & AR Operations Supervisor - Remote at Gainwell, you will lead a team responsible for healthcare claims and financial operations that may include medical billing, claims adjudication, medical records, pharmacy claims, accounts receivable payment posting, claims reconciliation, analytics, and operational reporting.

You will oversee daily team activities, establish priorities, monitor quality and productivity, and ensure work is completed accurately and within established deadlines. In this role, you will combine strong people leadership with hands-on analytical skills, using Microsoft Excel, SQL, and operational data to identify discrepancies, prioritize inventory, and report on team performance.

Your role in our mission

  • Supervise the daily activities of a healthcare operations team supporting medical billing, claims adjudication, payment posting, claims reconciliation, analytics, and/or reporting functions.
  • Establish daily work priorities and monitor inventory to ensure assignments are completed accurately and within required deadlines.
  • Lead, motivate, coach, and develop team members while addressing performance concerns and taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Oversee accounts receivable reconciliation activities, research payment or posting discrepancies, and ensure identified issues are corrected appropriately.
  • Use Microsoft Excel to analyze operational data, reconcile information, identify trends, and prepare reports for leadership.
  • Run basic SQL queries and retrieve information from databases to support inventory prioritization, operational reporting, and business decision-making.
  • Monitor and report on team performance, including productivity, quality, inventory, and throughput metrics.
  • Manage multiple projects and operational initiatives in a deadline-driven environment while balancing changing priorities.
  • Identify workflow challenges, reporting discrepancies, and opportunities to improve team processes, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Communicate operational results, risks, resource needs, and performance updates to management and other stakeholders.
  • Existing Gainwell supervisory templates similarly emphasize daily operational oversight, staff coaching and performance management, workflow administration, reporting, service-level expectations, and process improvement.


What we're looking for

  • Five or more years of professional experience, including at least two years in a demonstrated leadership role such as Team Lead, Supervisor, or a comparable position.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: medical billing, claims adjudication, medical records, pharmacy claims, accounts receivable payment posting, claims reconciliation, healthcare analytics, or operational reporting.
  • Strong personnel management skills, including the ability to motivate employees, provide coaching, manage performance, and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to analyze data, reconcile information, identify discrepancies, and produce operational reports.
  • Experience running basic SQL queries and querying databases to prioritize inventory and report on team productivity, quality, and throughput.

  • This is a remote position anywhere in the U.S.
  • Video cameras must be used during all interviews, as well as during the initial week of orientation.

The pay range for this position is $50,600.00 - $72,300.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
