The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance team and ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all equipment and systems within the manufacturing facility. This role supports production by minimizing downtime, leading preventive maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:

Supervise, train, and develop maintenance technicians and mechanics.
Assign daily work schedules and prioritize maintenance tasks.
Monitor performance and provide coaching and performance feedback.
Ensure team adherence to safety, GMP, and company policies.
Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all production equipment, including mixers, ovens, conveyors, packaging machines, and refrigeration systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
Ensure minimal downtime through rapid response and root cause analysis.
Maintain building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and compressed air systems.
Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules using CMMS systems.
Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures.
Lead safety meetings and ensure lockout/tagout (LOTO) compliance.
Assist in commissioning new equipment and production lines.
Monitor equipment performance metrics and downtime reports.
Coordinate emergency repairs during off-hours as needed.
Ensure proper lubrication, calibration, and inspection of equipment.
Must be open to working overnights (5PM-5AM), 5 days/week

Education Requirements:

Associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Technology, or related field preferred.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Technical certifications (Industrial Maintenance, PLC, Electrical Systems) strongly preferred.

Required Experience:

5+ years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Minimum 2 years in a maintenance supervisory role.
Proven experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

Technical Skills:

Mechanical systems (gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, ovens, mixers)
Electrical systems (motors, drives, control panels)
PLC troubleshooting (Allen Bradley, Siemens preferred)
Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
HVAC and refrigeration systems
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Experience with CMMS software.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and LOTO procedures.
Understanding of GMP and food safety standards.
