Job Description
We are seeking an Application Programmer IV/V to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in batch and feed management, enterprise monitoring, Autosys, UNIX and shell scripting, and SQL/Oracle/Hadoop. The candidate shall diagnose and resolve production issues, improve monitoring and documentation, and coordinate incident response to achieve stable and reliable application operations.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor multiple batch processes to completion and investigate and resolve failures.
- Respond to alerts in a timely manner and perform analysis and resolution for issues identified through monitoring.
- Create and maintain knowledge base articles and support documentation.
- Create clear incident records in business language and manage communications and escalations until resolution.
- Provide application support and subject matter expertise to troubleshoot user inquiries and production issues, including root cause analysis and preventive recommendations.
- Utilize ITSM and monitoring tools such as ServiceNow, ITRS Geneos, Dynatrace, and Splunk to update records and produce reports.
- Prioritize concurrent issues and requests based on impact and urgency.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3-5 years in an application support role with hands-on experience supporting client applications.
- Strong knowledge of Autosys for batch scheduling and control.
- Strong knowledge of UNIX and shell scripting.
- Good knowledge of SQL and one or more of Oracle or Hadoop or similar DBMS.
- Ability to rationalize impact across multiple concurrent issues and prioritize work accordingly.
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently.
- Motivation to drive continuous improvement of processes and environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with enterprise monitoring tools: ITRS Geneos, Splunk, Dynatrace, NEWS.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Working knowledge of ITIL foundations and incident, problem, and change processes.
- Project and time management skills in multi-regional team environments.
- Documentation experience using Confluence.
- Financial industry experience.
