Job Details
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Determine manufacturing methods, planning and sequencing, fixturing, raw materials, and inspection methods; define work performed by outside vendors
Provide detailed quotes for precision-machined components
Take a hands-on role in the manufacturing process of development projects alongside production
Provide process engineering support to production, ensuring accurate and detailed manufacturing process instructions and feedback
Apply job standards to Engineering master routings for shop work
Input routing data into the database to calculate operation times and document detailed procedures for each manufacturing operation
Use CAD (NX) software to sketch blueprints, operation sheets, and set-up sheets for internal and outside vendors; develop fixtures and processes
Program NC toolpaths using Mastercam or Unigraphics
Multi-task across concurrent development and production support priorities
Qualifications
Needed:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, OR 5-10 years of related experience/training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Proficiency with GD&T, technical drawings, and NC programming using Mastercam or Unigraphics
Broad knowledge of machine tools and their capabilities for properly routing precision components
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret manufacturing drawings, technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
Ability to respond to inquiries from employees, regulatory agencies, and the business community
Preferred / Nice-to-Have:
Experience programming CNC VTL & milling machines, including set-up and first-part runs to release development to production; tool room experience
Experience using PPAP to evaluate incoming jobs
