Key Responsibilities

API Modernization

• Lead modernization of legacy APIs and applications toward RESTful, event-driven, and cloud-native architectures.
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient APIs and microservices.
• Define API lifecycle management, versioning, security, governance, and standards.
• Support migration from legacy platforms to modern cloud-native technologies.
• Implement API gateways, service integration, authentication, authorization, and traffic management.
• Identify opportunities for application decomposition and modernization using microservices and containerization.

Cloud Engineering

• Design, build, and manage highly available and scalable cloud solutions.
• Develop cloud-native architectures using services across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Implement containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Implement cloud security, networking, identity management, encryption, and governance.
• Drive cloud migration and application modernization initiatives.

DevSecOps

• Design and implement secure CI/CD pipelines integrating security throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Implement automated code quality, SAST, DAST, SCA, container, and infrastructure security scanning.
• Integrate security controls and compliance requirements into DevOps processes.
• Establish secure software supply-chain practices.
• Automate vulnerability detection, remediation, and compliance reporting.
• Work closely with security, development, infrastructure, and architecture teams to establish DevSecOps standards.

Automation

• Automate infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, configuration management, and operational processes.
• Develop reusable automation frameworks and pipelines.
• Reduce manual operational activities through scripting and Infrastructure as Code.
• Implement automated testing, deployment, rollback, and environment management.
• Identify opportunities for AIOps and intelligent automation.

Monitoring & Observability

• Establish enterprise monitoring and observability capabilities across applications, APIs, infrastructure, containers, and cloud platforms.
• Implement metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and alerting.
• Work with technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Elastic, Splunk, OpenTelemetry, or equivalent platforms.
• Define SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, and operational health metrics.
• Implement proactive monitoring and automated incident detection.
• Improve application performance, reliability, availability, and operational visibility.
