Skills

  • UX Design
  • Oil and Gas

Summary

Oil and gas experience required
Overview
You help a global energy company make the business tools its teams use every day clearer and easier to use. About 70% of your time goes to user research, and the other 30% goes to hands-on design. You talk with project teams and the people who use these tools, find out what they need, and turn what you learn into workflows, journeys, and prototypes. You succeed here when your research shapes how vendor and software-as-a-service (SaaS) apps are set up and upgraded, and when the people using them notice the difference.
Responsibilities
  • Meet with project teams and business stakeholders to learn their needs, goals, and business processes.
  • Write research plans and UX plans that set the direction for each project.
  • Lead user interviews, contextual inquiries, and workshops, with a focus on qualitative research.
  • Run usability tests to check designs and app setups before they go live.
  • Turn your findings into clear insights, personas, user journeys, and workflows.
  • Build prototypes in Figma that follow the team s design systems.
  • Guide how vendor and SaaS apps are configured and upgraded, since the team does little custom development.
  • Present your findings and recommendations to project teams, product managers, and business leaders.
  • Spot usability and accessibility problems in existing tools and recommend fixes.
Qualifications Required
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in UX research.
  • A bachelor s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Human Factors, Psychology, Design, Information Science, or a related field.
  • Deep experience with qualitative research, including user interviews, research plans, and synthesis.
  • Proven skill planning and running usability tests.
  • Strong stakeholder management with project teams, product managers, and business leaders, including work in Agile teams.
  • Working skill in Figma and design systems, including prototypes, workflows, and user journeys.
  • A portfolio that shows your research process and its impact.
Preferred
  • Oil and gas industry knowledge.
  • Experience with SAP or Power BI.
  • Experience improving enterprise apps, vendor tools, or SaaS platforms.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design.
  • Comfort learning new business processes quickly and delivering on tight deadlines
