Responsibilities
- Build and support scalable, cloud native applications and data solutions within a large financial services environment.
- Participate across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, development, automated testing, deployment support, and production troubleshooting.
- Work extensively with Java, Python, and AWS services to deliver backend applications, data pipelines, APIs, and Generative AI capabilities.
- Implement production-ready solutions using AWS services such as Amazon Redshift, RDS, Glue, DMS, ECS, and Bedrock.
- Develop Generative AI capabilities including Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and agentic workflows.
- Build automated tests, validate data and application behavior, troubleshoot defects, and ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, reliability, and quality expectations.
- Collaborate closely with business, product, data, and engineering teams to meet project goals.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on software development experience, preferably building enterprise-scale applications.
- Strong Java development experience, including Spring Boot and microservices.
- Strong Python development experience for APIs, data processing, automation, and AI/ML integrations.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, particularly Amazon Redshift, RDS, Glue, DMS, ECS, and Bedrock.
- Experience developing cloud native backend services and containerized applications.
- Strong experience working with relational and analytical data platforms, including data ingestion, transformation, and data access patterns.
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI and LLM-based applications, preferably using Amazon Bedrock.
- Experience implementing RAG, prompt engineering, and/or agentic AI workflows.
- Strong automated testing experience across unit, integration, system, and regression testing.
- Experience incorporating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and taking ownership of application quality throughout the SDLC.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and cloud native application patterns.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and production support skills.
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with business, product, data, and engineering teams.
- Apache Spark/PySpark or Scala Spark experience is preferred.
- GraphQL API development experience is preferred.
- Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes is preferred.
- Experience with vector databases and GenAI ecosystem tools is a plus.
- Experience working with data-intensive applications in financial services or another highly regulated environment is beneficial.
