Senior Facilities Engineer - West Metro
The Senior Facilities Engineer oversees the reliability, safety, and regulatory alignment of all company buildings, utility systems, and technical documentation. This role operates with a high degree of independence and is responsible for leading facility operations to ensure strong support for all business functions. The Senior Engineer also safeguards adherence to organizational standards, processes, and operational practices.
This is a full-time direct hire position with a target salary up to $163,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
Facility & Infrastructure Management
- Independently plan, coordinate, and supervise building maintenance, renovations, and improvement projects in collaboration with senior leadership, balancing priorities, budget considerations, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a detailed understanding of all facility systems, including utility routes, electrical distribution, fire protection functions, and related infrastructure.
- Provide engineering expertise for the design, installation, commissioning, and qualification of new or upgraded equipment and systems.
- Build strong partnerships with departments across the organization-including operations, quality, R&D, and commercial teams-to support facility-related needs.
- Ensure all facility work aligns with internal quality management processes, completing required documentation (e.g., audits, nonconformances, CAPA, change controls, maintenance reports).
Project Planning & Execution
- Lead planning, design reviews, contractor bidding, and construction management for facility repairs and capital projects.
- Implement long-term infrastructure management strategies to support business growth and operational continuity.
- Oversee preventive maintenance and repair programs across all company sites.
- Select, oversee, and evaluate external service providers (construction, utilities, pest control, grounds maintenance, etc.).
- Maintain competitive vendor pricing by establishing structured bidding processes.
- Participate in cross-functional project planning activities.
Financial Oversight
- Create tools and dashboards that summarize facility budgets, spending trends, and future projections.
- Support the development of annual capital and operating budgets.
- Review and analyze budget performance versus actual expenditures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- At least 5 years of experience with facility mechanical systems, building codes, and site infrastructure design.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to work independently in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.
- Experience managing schedules, budgets, construction activities, and technical proposals.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision making skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Facility Engineering certification (e.g., Certified Facility Engineer, Certified Plant Engineer).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
