Role: Vegetation Management Database Developer (Leased Employee)

Project Overview:
The client''s Vegetation Management organization is looking to design, develop, and implement a Vegetation Management Database (VMD) using Microsoft SQL Server. This will serve as the central repository for historical vegetation management data, reference data, and approved operational data sources — supporting reporting, dashboards, operational and predictive analytics, forecast modeling, performance scorecards, and decision support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess existing data sources, gather business requirements, and design target SQL Server architecture (logical/physical data models, tables, keys, indexes)
- Load historical VM data and reference data; cleanse, standardize, and validate data quality
- Implement secure integration methods for approved external data sources (without unnecessary duplication/storage)
- Build low-code/no-code solutions enabling non-technical business users to securely maintain approved datasets, with role-based security and audit trails
- Develop dashboards, scorecards, KPI reports, and forecasting/predictive analytics models (Python-based analytics is a plus)
- Support test planning, UAT, documentation (data dictionary, runbooks), and training/knowledge transfer
- Coordinate with client IT and GIS staff on standards and integration approaches

Minimum Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in comparable services
- Strong, demonstrated expertise in SQL Server database design and development
- Experience with data integration, reporting, analytics, and forecasting solutions
- Utility, vegetation management, asset management, or similar operational environment experience preferred
- Strong written/verbal communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to varied audiences
Logistics:
- Candidates may work remotely (subject to client approval); must provide own hardware/software/tools for remote work
