The Solutions Architect will serve as a trusted technical advisor, working at scale and with substantial autonomy to develop secure, scalable, highly available, and cost-effective Azure cloud solutions. The role combines cloud architecture and technical leadership with capture, proposal, solution-development, and estimating responsibilities. The successful candidate will collaborate with business development, capture, proposal, engineering, security, infrastructure, and customer stakeholders to develop technically sound, compliant, and competitive solutions that meet customer technical, schedule, cost, and risk requirements.

Job Responsibilities
  • Leverage domain expertise to develop a comprehensive understanding of customer requirements and lead development of complete, compliant, technically feasible, and price-competitive solutions.
  • Collaborate with business-development, capture, proposal, pricing, engineering, and other team members to optimize proposed solutions and ensure alignment with customer objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership for Pre-Bid-and-Proposal (Pre-B&P) and Bid-and-Proposal (B&P) activities, including solution development, technical volume development, staffing approaches, and cost-estimating support.
  • Identify technical staffing needs and coordinate the assignment of technical personnel to capture, proposal, Pre-B&P, and B&P efforts.
  • Coordinate with technical leadership and technical contributors on solution architecture, proposal writing, technical reviews, cost estimates, basis-of-estimate inputs, and associated artifacts.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise to meet customer technical, schedule, cost, security, compliance, and risk-management requirements.
  • Work closely with the Enterprise Architect to design, implement, and govern secure, scalable, highly available Azure cloud architectures aligned to enterprise technology standards, business objectives, security requirements, and cloud-governance best practices.
  • Design cloud-hosted solutions that address application modernization, legacy-system transformation, cloud readiness, interoperability, data integration, and mission-critical healthcare requirements.
  • Develop new concepts, techniques, standards, and reusable architecture patterns that improve organizational cloud-solution capabilities and delivery quality.
  • Establish technical objectives and goals for assigned work; provide technical guidance to team members to achieve those goals in accordance with established policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Design and govern multi-subscription Azure environments using Azure Management Groups, Azure Policy, Azure Landing Zones, and related cloud-governance capabilities.
  • Define and implement Azure security architecture and cloud controls, including identity and access management, encryption, key management, privileged access, network security, monitoring, and security-event management.
  • Design cloud networking and hybrid-connectivity architectures using Azure Virtual Network, VNet peering, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, Private Link, Azure Firewall, and related services.
  • Develop and oversee infrastructure-as-code and cloud-automation solutions using ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform, Azure Developer CLI, Python, PowerShell, Azure CLI, and comparable tools.
  • Establish monitoring, logging, observability, alerting, and performance-management capabilities using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Microsoft Sentinel, and approved third-party platforms.
  • Architect and support Azure data platform services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake Storage.
  • Define database high-availability, performance optimization, backup and recovery, business continuity, and disaster-recovery strategies.
  • Guide implementation of CI/CD and DevOps practices using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines, and related deployment automation technologies.
  • Architect containerized and cloud-native solutions using Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Container Apps, and Azure Container Instances.
  • Assess, diagnose, and resolve complex cloud-infrastructure, networking, security, performance, availability, and application-integration issues.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including solution architectures, cloud standards, reference architectures, diagrams, governance materials, operating procedures, engineering decisions, and technical proposal content.
  • Mentor engineers, architects, and technical teams; promote knowledge sharing, technical growth, consistent implementation practices, and operational excellence.
  • Lead cloud transformation initiatives and collaborate across infrastructure, security, development, data, business, and customer organizations.
  • Remain current with emerging Azure technologies, cloud-native architectures, security trends, cost-optimization methods, and industry best practices; apply relevant innovations to improve solution quality and customer outcomes.
