Role Overview
The Cloud Network Engineer will join a high-performing Cloud Network Engineering team responsible for designing, deploying, and operating large-scale, multi-account AWS and Azure network environments. This role supports mission-critical workloads, hybrid connectivity, global DNS services, and security-aligned network patterns. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, architecture-minded professional comfortable working in complex, distributed environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Terraform modules for repeatable network patterns, including TGW attachments, Route 53 rules, VPC builds, and account onboarding.
- Implement scalable AWS and Azure network patterns, including VPC/VNet architectures, Transit Gateway, Cloud WAN, Direct Connect, and ExpressRoute.
- Engineer connectivity solutions between on-premises data centers and the cloud using Direct Connect, VPN, and SD-WAN.
- Build and maintain DNS architectures, including Route 53 Resolver and integration with enterprise DNS.
- Develop automation workflows using CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Bitbucket for version-controlled network deployments.
- Provide operational expertise for DNS appliances, cloud firewalls, GSLB, network proxies, and hybrid connectivity.
- Act as an escalation point for enterprise networking teams.
- Review risk assessments, change requests, and network designs for compliance and reliability.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Five or more years in network engineering with strong experience in AWS or Azure networking.
Technical Skills: Expertise with routing and switching protocols, including BGP. Practical experience with Terraform for infrastructure deployment. Experience with VPC design, subnetting, network segmentation, NACLs, and security groups. Familiarity with DNS concepts such as recursion, forwarding, and GSLB.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty or equivalent certification.
- Experience with InfoBlox, F5 GTM DNS, Palo Alto Cloud NGFW, or Guardicore segmentation.
- Experience operating large-scale environments with centralized IPAM and routing patterns.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines for network automation.
- Familiarity with tools such as Ansible, NetBrain, SolarWinds, or NetScout.
