Education: Bachelor’s Degree Required

Clearance: Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. United States Citizenship is required as part of the eligibility criteria to be able to obtain this type of security clearance.

Certifications:

·         An active CompTIA Security+ certification is required.

·         One or more of the following certifications preferred:

o   CISSP

o   CySA+

o   AWS or Azure Cloud Security certification

o   Kubernetes or container security certification

Key Skills:

·         Experience developing, sustaining, or leading technical efforts for legacy Modeling and Simulation, training, or mission planning systems, including models, systems, and interfaces.

·         Must have deep understanding of legacy environments with hands on experience.

 

Responsibilities

 

·         Lead technical sustainment and transition of a legacy Modeling and Simulation or training baseline within a larger operational portfolio.

·         Serve as the primary technical authority for understanding legacy behaviors, interfaces, dependencies, and operational constraints.

·         Coordinate daily with engineering teams, incumbent contractors, and Government stakeholders to support sustainment and transition activities.

·         Guide engineers implementing fixes, integrations, and transition paths while ensuring legacy training and simulation artifacts remain operational.

·         Support transition engineering efforts that integrate legacy systems into broader, modernized environments.

·         Partner with cybersecurity and DevSecOps teams to address findings, maintain compliance, and ensure legacy components remain deployable.

·         Provide technical leadership, risk awareness, and execution discipline across sustainment and modernization efforts.

·         Contribute to technical planning, execution tracking, and continuous improvement activities.

 

Qualifications

 

·         Must have 12+ years professional engineering experience.

·         Must currently possess an active Secret security clearance.

·         Bachelors degree required.

·         An active CompTIA Security+ certification is required.

·         One or more of the following certifications preferred:

o   CISSP

o   CySA+

o   AWS or Azure Cloud Security certification

o   Kubernetes or container security certification

·         Demonstrated experience developing, sustaining, or leading technical efforts for legacy Modeling and Simulation, training, or mission planning systems, including models, systems, and interfaces.

·         2+ years of military mission planning, operational, or wargaming experience and supporting simulation or training environments used by operational or command organizations.

·         Experience transitioning legacy systems into modern, service-based or cloud-enabled architectures.

·         Exposure to environments where modern and legacy systems coexist.

·         Proven experience integrating and fielding simulation or training capabilities in operational environments.

·         Experience working with cloud-based services such as AWS or Azure and RESTful architectures used to host or integrate legacy capabilities.

·         Demonstrated ability to lead technical sustainment and transition activities for legacy systems.

·         Experience supporting Air Force or DoD Modeling and Simulation or training systems.

·         Familiarity with operational training, simulation, or stimulation artifacts and associated fielding patterns.

·         Experience supporting systems used by command centers or operational planning organizations.

·         Familiarity with secure enterprise or platform-based delivery environments.

·         Proven experience coordinating with multiple contractors and Government stakeholders during sustainment, integration, or transition efforts.

·         Working knowledge of DoD cybersecurity practices, including coordination with security teams to sustain and remediate legacy components.

·         Ability to lead, mentor, and manage engineers in a mission-focused, multi-disciplinary environment.
