Exp: 12 Yrs

 

Job Description:

  • Strong expertise in PostgreSQL 8 years, hands on experience with AWS RDS Aurora PostgreSQL 3 years
  • Deep understanding of Query optimization execution plans, WAL replication vacuum indexing, High availability and failover
  • AWS Cloud Skills: Strong knowledge of AWS services, RDS EC2 S3 IAM VPC
  • Experience with monitoring tools CloudWatch Performance Insights
  • Familiarity with cost optimization FinOps
  • Automation Scripting: Proficiency in Python Shell scripting
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools
  • Data Integration: Experience with Data migration tools AWS DMS pgdum prestore
  • ETL/ELT pipelines, Understanding of data warehousing concepts

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS Certification Database Solutions Architect
  • Experience with Aurora Global Database Serverless
  • Exposure to Docker Kubernetes, Knowledge of Kafka or streaming platforms

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Amazon RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL databases in production
  • Perform installation configuration upgrades patching and migrations
  • Configure and manage MultiAZ deployments read replicas and failover strategies
  • Monitor database health using AWS CloudWatch Performance Insights

 

Performance Tuning Optimization:

  • Analyze and optimize slow queries and execution plans
  • Tune PostgreSQL parameters sharedbuffers workmem autovacuum etc
  • Implement indexing partitioning and query optimization strategies
  • Handle largescale highvolume transactional systems

 

Backup Recovery High Availability:

  • Implement automated backups and PointinTime Recovery PITR
  • Design and test disaster recovery strategies
  • Conduct periodic DR drills and failover testing

 

Cloud Architecture:

  • Design scalable and reliable database architectures on AWS
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code Terraform CloudFormation
  • Work with VPC IAM S3 EC2 and networking components
  • Collaborate with DevOps for CICD integration

 

Security Compliance:

  • Implement database security best practices IAM roles encryption
  • Manage encryption at rest and in transit
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise security standards
  • Conduct audits and vulnerability assessments

 

Troubleshooting Production Support:

  • Provide L2L3 support for critical production systems
  • Perform root cause analysis RCA for incidents
  • Ensure system uptime and SLA adherence

 

Leadership Mentorship:

  • Lead a team of DBAs and engineers
  • Mentor team members and drive knowledge sharing
  • Establish standard processes and automation practices
