Job#: 3028375 Job Description: ***If interested in the opportunity below please email a copy of your resume to ***Position: Core Provisioning & Material Procurement Engineer (OSP)Location: RemoteDuration: 12+ Months; Strong potential for extensionOverview:- Provisioning of all service orders, including TDM (T1/T3), Ethernet, and Dark Fiber services.
- Circuit design utilizing TIRKS (Trunks Integrated Record Keeping System).
- Transport design using the Legacy and GPON network.
- Creation of legacy transport systems utilizing TIRKS.
- Determine routing of high-capacity special services over fiber and copper networks.
- Responsible for equipment configurations and card/port assignments.
- Manage multiple Capacity Creation Requests for new hardware deployments, reconfigurations, and decommissions.
- Manage design requirements for circuit additions, upgrades, outside moves, repairs, and rearrangements.
- Coordinate and drive engineering issues to resolution.
- Maintain excellent communication with field engineering, cross-functional team members, and direct management to ensure early identification of issues and timely resolution.
- Collaborate with OSP & ISP Engineering/Planning teams.
Required Skills:- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical/science/mathematics fields, or 5+ years of prior work experience.
- Proficient computer skills (Windows-based programs and corporate database systems).
- Demonstrated knowledge of circuit design SONET, TDM, T1s, ISDN.
- Strong working knowledge of fiber SONET/Transport - Tellabs, Alcatel Lucent, Adtran, Fujitsu, Ciena, and Cisco.
- Strong skills in oral and written communications, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and organize work tasks.
- Ability to re-prioritize as needed in a fast-paced working environment, especially when dealing with time-sensitive issues and mandated deadlines.
- Effective interpersonal skills to interact successfully with customers, management, and team members to deliver customer satisfaction.
Desired Skills:- Prior working experience and basic knowledge of telecom Outside Plant Engineering practices.
