Technical Program Manager (3192)
Foster City California

Contract Role

Job Description:

My client is seeking a highly skilled Contract Technical Program Manager (TPM) to drive the execution of our critical reliability programs. In this role, you will operate at the intersection of software development, data infrastructure, and hardware operations, ensuring seamless cross-functional alignment during a high-complexity delivery phase.

You will be responsible for day-to-day program execution—running delivery cadences, managing cross-team dependencies, tracking program health metrics, and ensuring deployment readiness across engineering, operations, and field service stakeholders. Because this role bridges hardware reliability engineering, software data systems, and operational workflows, it requires a TPM who can navigate all three domains fluently

Responsibilities

·        Drive delivery execution across multiple concurrent workstreams, each with distinct engineering teams, timelines, and dependencies.

·        Run program cadences including standups, cross-team syncs, deployment readiness reviews, and documentation review cycles.

·        Coordinate with Data Engineering on infrastructure delivery milestones including schema migrations, data pipeline hardening, and platform integrations.

·        Partner with Operations teams to ensure deployment readiness - playbooks, workflow definitions, and fleet response documentation are complete before launch.

·        Define, track, and report on key program metrics (KPIs) and milestone health, maintaining pristine Jira hygiene to provide real-time portfolio visibility.

·        Identify and escalate cross-team blockers with clear problem statements and recommended resolution paths.

·        Prepare meeting agendas, capture decisions, track action items, and drive follow-through to closure.

·        Provide regular program status roll-ups and risk assessments to leadership.

Qualifications

·        BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.

·        4 to 6 years of Technical Program Management experience driving delivery in hybrid hardware/software environments.

·        Demonstrated experience managing complex cross-functional programs spanning hardware development, data infrastructure, and operations.

·        Proficiency with project tracking tools (Jira, Confluence, or equivalent) including structure boards, epics, and delivery reporting.

·        Familiarity with data concepts (SQL, schema design, ETL workflows) sufficient to track delivery and communicate status - not expected to write production code.

·        Strong communication skills - ability to synthesize technical status into clear summaries for diverse audiences.

·        Track record of driving accountability through structured cadences, escalation paths, and action item management.

Preferred Qualifications

·        Prior experience in the autonomous vehicle, automotive, or aerospace industry.

·        Familiarity with predictive maintenance, reliability engineering, or prognostic health management concepts.

·        Experience with Databricks, Spark, Airflow, or similar data/ML platform tooling.

·        Experience with field service management systems (SAP FSM or similar).

·        Exposure to hardware reliability concepts (FMEA, degradation modeling, failure mode analysis).

·        Experience supporting documentation or technical publications workflows for operational teams.
