Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance solutions that support data migration, archival, and retention across large-scale mainframe environments
- Build and maintain services and integrations using Java, Kotlin, and modern messaging patterns
- Design and support REST APIs that enable reliable data movement and system communication
- Work with databases and data platforms such as Oracle Exadata, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
- Contribute to ETL design and implementation efforts for migration and archival workflows
- Collaborate closely with engineering, infrastructure, security, and partner teams to deliver business needs
- Write and test code, create automated test coverage, and support quality assurance activities
- Document technical work and produce runbooks that support ongoing platform requirements
- Participate in agile delivery, including backlog sizing, iterative development, and story-level execution
Skills
- Strong professional experience developing in Java and Kotlin
- Hands-on experience with messaging platforms such as Kafka
- Background in microservices architecture, including producer and consumer implementations
- Experience building and supporting RESTful APIs
- Solid database experience with Oracle Exadata, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
- Cloud experience with Google Cloud Platform, GCS, and Azure
- Experience designing and implementing ETL solutions
- Ability to ramp up quickly and contribute with minimal guidance
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Experience working in an agile environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience with modular monorepo architecture
- Exposure to framework-free codebases
- Background in test-driven development and software test automation
- Experience supporting enterprise systems with compliance or retention requirements
