LOCATION: Full-time, onsite, McLean, VA area

We are seeking a mission-driven Systems Engineer with strong experience across Windows and Linux environments to support secure, enterprise-scale systems. In this role, you'll engineer and administer Windows Server infrastructures, MSSQL databases, ADCS, VM clusters, Hyper-V, and enterprise backup solutions, while leveraging PowerShell for automation. You'll support A&A activities for security-controlled systems, manage virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V, and maintain cloud-integrated architectures.

Key Responsibilities

In this challenging yet rewarding role, you are an integral part of what brings our Company's mission to life. You must have the following required skills, certifications and demonstrated experience in and/or with:
  • Windows systems engineering and administration, including MSSQL databases, Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS), VM clusters, Hyper-V, Data Protection Manager, and PowerShell scripting.
  • Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes to accredit security-controlled systems.
  • LINUX systems engineering and administration.

TOOLS AND TECHNOLOGIES:
  • Windows Server operating systems (e.g., Server 2016, Server 2019, Server 2022).
  • Windows desktop operating systems (e.g., Windows 10, Windows 11).
  • Microsoft Group Policy Management (for managing settings across multiple machines).
  • Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) (for managing updates).
  • Virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).

Highly Desired Qualifications

Other skills and demonstrated experiences with or in the following are highly desired but not mandatory to perform the work include:
  • Working with security-controlled systems, CipherTrust enterprise hardware security modules, software, and data architecture.
  • Working as a data transfer officer with security-controlled systems.
  • Working as an Oracle LINUX Systems Administrator.
  • Using Cisco switches and security appliances including ASAs, StealthWatch and Tetration.
  • Managing NetApp storage area networks (SANs).
  • Certificate management for users, servers and service accounts.
  • Cross-skilling and backfilling for teammates.
  • Handling sensitive data, exercising discretion and sound judgment, and achieving mission outcomes.
  • Working with Sponsor's security-controlled systems, software, and data architecture.
  • Working with Sponsor's Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes.
  • Working as a data transfer officer with Sponsor's security-controlled systems.
  • Working with IT Program Management and support.
  • Certification(s) - Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Database Administrator.
