Major Duties : Develops operational metrics to track workload and provide transparency to processes.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining procedures and processes documents to improve the efficiency of the group and actively guide and support team.
Operates independently; has in-depth knowledge of business unit / function
As subject area expert, provides comprehensive, in-depth consulting and leadership to team and partners at a high technical level
Carries out activities that are large in scope, cross-functional and technically difficult
Role is balanced between high level operational execution and development, and execution of strategic direction of business function activities
Conducts preliminary analysis
Responsible for direct interaction with different committees and/or management
Strategic in developing, implementing and administering programs within functional areas
Takes a new perspective on existing solutions
Exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams
Works within broad guidelines and policies

Knowledge : Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required along with ability to be highly flexible and adaptable to change
Excellent understanding of procurement philosophies and strategies along with in-depth knowledge of supply chain management and procurement
Leadership and organizational skills are required to develop objectives and goals
Proficiency in MS Office Suites with advanced Excel skills. Experience with ERP systems/PeopleSoft
Deep understanding/knowledge of contract terms and conditions and legal impact of different terms
Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines
Applies best practices and how own area integrates with others
Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus

Experience : Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or Finance is preferred.
MBA or other advanced degree and a professional Procurement/ Supply Chain Management designation (e.g. CSCP, CPM) are a strong plus.
Six or more years' experience in Sourcing or Procurement related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience
May lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements

Salary Range:
$114,500 - 194,700 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
