About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with AWS data services, ETL processes, data warehousing, and big data technologies. You will work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable and high-quality data solutions that drive informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using AWS services
• Build and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) processes
• Develop and manage data lakes and data warehouses on AWS
• Work with structured and unstructured data from multiple sources
• Ensure data quality, integrity, governance, and security best practices
• Implement performance tuning and cost optimization strategies
• Automate workflows and data processes using orchestration tools
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Monitor and troubleshoot production data systems
• Maintain proper documentation for data architecture and pipelines

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in data engineering or related role
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as:
  • Amazon S3
  • AWS Glue
  • Amazon Redshift
  • Amazon RDS
  • AWS Lambda
  • Amazon EMR
  • Amazon Kinesis
  • AWS Step Functions
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational and NoSQL databases
• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, or Scala
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines
• Knowledge of data modeling and data warehousing concepts
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of IAM roles, security best practices, and data governance
• AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Data Engineer Associate, Solutions Architect, or Developer)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with big data frameworks (Apache Spark, Hadoop)
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation)
• Knowledge of BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, QuickSight)
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
