In this role, you?ll serve as an IT Network Engineer III. You will contribute to the design, maintenance, and support of Metropolitan?s enterprise network systems that support communications across the organization. This position requires specialized expertise in Cisco network equipment and plays a critical role in supporting multiple upcoming Cybersecurity Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) initiatives. You?ll help ensure the reliability, performance, and security of critical network infrastructure that supports a mission-driven organization.
What You?ll Do
? Contribute to the design of network systems and provide ongoing support for enterprise network infrastructure.
? Track, monitor, and troubleshoot network hardware and software.
? Perform network configuration, optimization, installation, upgrades, and testing.
? Analyze service requests and provide customer assistance and technical solutions.
? Perform network research and development to support system improvements.
? Design, maintain, and support network infrastructure including:
? Cisco and Arista routers and Layer 3 internal and external routing protocols.
? Cisco and Arista switches and Layer 2 services such as VLANs, trunks, port-channels, and spanning tree protocols.
? Palo Alto firewalls including security policies, VPN, and network address translation.
? F5 application load balancing and Web Application Firewall services.
? IP address management (IPAM) services including DNS and DHCP.
? Layer 1 services including single-mode fiber, multimode fiber, fiber trays, and power distribution units.

Schedule: 44/36, Monday through Friday/Every other Friday off. Monday through Thursday 9 hours per day, 8 hours per day every other Friday. Start times are no earlier than 6 am and end times are no later than 6 pm.
Hybrid: Metropolitan?s current practice in this position is a hybrid work schedule. This typically includes two days a week in person and the other days remote. This is subject to change dependent on organizational needs. In addition, a telework policy is scheduled for negotiations and once completed and implemented, will provide final direction on the hybrid schedule.
This position may require coming into the office more than 2 days per week based on business needs.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Bachelor?s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years of relevant experience.
Relevant Experience is defined as: 4 years of experience supporting in each of the following areas: network operations, campus network environments, data center networks, AND cloud network environments.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
Employees in this position may be required to obtain and maintain the following certifications, licensing and registrations:
Certificates: CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or equivalent (such as network certifications from Cisco, Palo Alto, Arista, or F5)
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver?s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
