Location: Remote with some travel to Canada
Role Overview
The Data Center Project Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Hardware Deployment Projects for external customers. This role involves leading technical resources to deploy hardware and providing ongoing communications to the customer, project team, and sales team. The Project Manager will track project status against plans, forecast and earn associated revenue, and notify management of issues and risks that could impact project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of Hardware Deployment Projects.
- Lead technical resources to deploy hardware.
- Provide ongoing communications to the customer, project team, and sales team.
- Track project status against plans, forecast revenue, and manage project financials.
- Notify management of issues and risks that could potentially impact project delivery.
- Collaborate with a team of Project Managers for guidance on issues and procedures.
- Travel extensively (50%-100%) across the United States and Canada, working on-site in customer data centers.
Required Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of IT Project Management experience supporting infrastructure deployment projects is required. Candidates must have recent hands-on project management experience involving Data Center Deployments, Enterprise Networking, High-Performance Computing (HPC), and Server and Storage Infrastructure. Experience managing customer-facing projects and interacting directly with executive and technical stakeholders is necessary.
Skills: Candidates must possess a strong understanding of project management methodologies, processes, and controls. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, are required. The ability to work with limited supervision to achieve project objectives is essential. A results-oriented mindset with strong attention to quality and customer satisfaction is also needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
- Experience with Networking and/or High-Performance Computing (HPC).
Work Environment
This position requires a commitment to travel up to 50-100% of the time. Travel may be to various locations with diverse weather conditions, from hot, desert-like environments to very cold northern climates, particularly during winter in Canada. Travel costs will be reimbursed.
