Summary:
One of the goals the Company’s Audio team is focused on is redefining human hearing. We are looking for a contract software engineer to maintain and expand the software and systems in our data collection lab, to ensure that the data collection process is efficient, accurate, and reliable. You will build software for working with cutting-edge prototype devices and integrating them into our data collection platform.

Responsibilities:

Develop software to work with cutting-edge prototype devices.
Make the data collection process efficient, reliable, and accurate.
Work with recording equipment for audio and other modalities.
Deploy, test, and evaluate upgrades to the data collection platform.
Build and maintain systems for monitoring system health.
Enhance tooling for the validation and processing of data.
Work onsite to debug problems and perform root cause analyses.
Work with other engineers to triage and estimate issues.
Promote best practices across the community of engineers and researchers.

Qualifications:

BS Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
6 years of professional programming experience.
Full stack software development experience.
Demonstrated proficiency in working with large projects in Python.
Proficiency in Linux and shell scripting.
Skills in maintaining and improving networks.
Experience with cross-platform distributed (RESTful) systems.
CI/CD experience, in particular with Github or GitLab.

Desired Skills:

Experience working with hardware multimedia sensors.
Working knowledge of audio, image, and video formats.
Experience with relational and graph/NoSQL databases.
Experience with software and hardware testing frameworks and strategies.
Working knowledge of React, or similar frontend frameworks in JavaScript.
Working knowledge of time-synchronization.
Experience with systems administration on Windows.
Experience with containerization and container orchestration.

Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $70.00 - $75.00 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages. Packages may include medical, dental, and vision benefits, health savings accounts with qualified medical plan enrollment, 10 paid days off, 3 days paid bereavement leave, 401(k) plan participation with employer match, life and disability insurance, commuter benefits, dependent care flexible spending account, accident insurance, critical illness insurance, hospital indemnity insurance, accommodations and reimbursement for work travel, and discretionary performance or recognition bonus. Sick leave and mobile phone reimbursement provided based on state or local law.
