HX5 is currently seeking a Systems Engineer to support the HNIB Division at Hanscom Air Force Base, MA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:HNIB-TDC contains a substantial amount of software that requires a dedicated person to continue its maintenance, contribute to system architecture, automation, documenting processes, assisting users, and supporting new software as it gets incorporated.
- Conduct reviews on program portfolio to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs/processes, manage/sustain program technical baseline, and design/perform system level tests to assure that subsystems and system performance is achieved in accordance with approved specifications.
- Perform program reviews to evaluate alternative proposed plans, systems engineering programs, design, and test results to assure that subsystem and system performance is achieved in accordance with program specifications.
- Prepare technical documents which define, specify, and recommend system/subsystem characteristics.
- Prepare management reports and conduct technical presentations for planning, implementation, and corrective action using application of engineering economy principles.
- Perform validation of systems, including development of criteria and procedures.
- Analyze and/or evaluate results of major engineering systems.
- Provide system/program engineering, technical support and technical training to support programs/initiatives, including but not limited to acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding and installation, and operations oversight.
- Provide engineering support services and inputs to program and project risk management activities in compliance with Air Force Systems Engineering Assessment Model (SEAM) processes.
- Capable of performing problem/gap definition, trade space analysis, science and technology roadmap analysis, "Set based design" for concept development, Multi-Objective Decision Analysis and cost versus capability trade off analysis.
- Capable of implementing Digital Engineering, Digital Thread, and Digital Twin techniques across system lifecycle.
Education and Experience:Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience:
- Master's or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten (10) years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five (5) years of which must be in the DoD
- OR, bachelor's degree in a related field and twelve (12) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five (5) of which must be in the DoD
- OR, fifteen (15) years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the PWS labor category performance requirements, eight (8) of which must be in the DoD
- Direct experience and knowledge of virtualization technologies, hypervisors such as Red Hat or VMWare/Broadcom, and Virtual Machine (VM) building
- Experience with maintenance as it will be the position's primary responsibility
- ABET accredited engineering degree preferred
Salary: This position is expected to pay $103,982 - $146,087 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
Other Position Requirements:- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
- Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance by date of hire
- Must be able to travel, including air travel.
