About Team: Our Imports tech team within EBS Finance department is responsible for carrying out various financial operations connected with import goods shipment. These tasks include managing payments for both supplier and non-supplier companies involved in these shipments, creating financial entries (GL) and posting them to SAP, managing the import PO lifecycle from a financial perspective, and conducting end-to-end reconciliation of processed payments.
What you'll do: - Playing part of an engineering team in software design and implementation, upholding our architectural patterns, design patterns, coding standards, quality principles, and customer focus.
- Putting our data to work by building a world class data foundation that supports applications, analytics and AI capabilities that solve real world financial problems.
- Explore Walmart's enterprise data ecosystems to identify opportunities.
- Perform research, EDA, and root cause analysis on data discrepancies to improve data models.
- Transform data from warehouses and lakes into models using SQL, Python, and dbt to surface missed recoveries.
- Building event driven and microservice powered applications to interact with SQL and No-SQL Databases to achieve Walmart's Finance modernization efforts.
- Working across multiple lines of business to modernize processes, helping teams deliver features at a rapid pace to ensure we build scalable and sustainable value-stream products for our business and associates.
- Partnering with Infrastructure and Platform teams to identify gaps and opportunities to invest time and resources to improve delivery across the organization
- Improving the software technology environment through application of industry best practices; researching the latest developments in software technology applicable to the enterprise; analyzing industry best practices; and benchmarking internal processes and solutions against industry technology and trends
- Assisting in the development, training, and mentoring of associates by providing guidance, and building a team-based work environment; leveraging data to establish performance goals and working with management to improve the working environment;
- Promoting and supporting company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application.
- Ensure business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.
What you'll bring: - Experience in building and modernizing a broad array of technology spanning both front and backend development.
- Experience with SQL and no-SQL Databases such as Redis, SQLite, Milvus, DB2, MS SQL, Cosmos DB, Azure SQL, Google BigQuery.
- Strong expertise in data modeling, SQL, Python, and dbt; experience with EDA, audit-focused data transformations, and maintaining ELT systems with CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with AI/ML techniques and information extraction (OCR, email analytics, Document AI) is a plus.
- Experience with AI, Generative AI, Data Science or probabilistic mathematics.
- Demonstrated experience with design and testing patterns.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and participate in medium- to large-scale projects by writing and reviewing code, reviewing project requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions by partnering with the product management, project management, business, and user experience teams. Prepare requested information and obtain cross-function approvals.
- Strong experience with cloud native technology and platform capabilities.
- Clear, concise communication skills with strong leadership and influential abilities.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00
