Summary

OVERVIEW:

Responsible for developing the strategy and execution for two critical areas of Treasury Management data usage: Client onboarding and fulfillment of TM services, and client usage of transactional data. Define a strategy to support the automation of data used for onboarding and downstream system setup of TM products for clients, driving efficiency and accuracy in process for Sales, Implementation, Operations, and Client Self-Serve. Define a strategy for client transactional data store model design, ensuring that application transactional data is managed and accessible to partners via appropriate channels/stores to support running their business. Includes identifying source data integration, ensuring ongoing accuracy, integrity, and scalability while meeting required compliance and security measures.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for the matrixed leadership of a cross-functional team of stakeholders in technical and business worlds to develop a small data product from conception to launch and manage the product post-development.
  • Ensure business requirements are clearly defined, communicated, and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning.
  • Accountable for a small data product and its integration into the greater data ecosystem including prioritizing work for an agile team and working with higher management to fix any product issues.
  • Develop and maintain data product roadmap leveraging understanding of client pain points and feedback from higher management, outlining the body of work expected now, next, and into the future, to deliver the largest client impact
  • Ensure work is aligned to assigned objectives and key results (OKRs).
  • Iterate product development based on stakeholder feedback and knowledge of data to continue to generate value for the business.
  • Lead data product team through matrixed leadership of functional associates under mentorship of more experienced team members.
  • Define stories and prioritize the team backlog to streamline the execution of program priorities, conform to agile practices.
  • Manage assigned agile team to keep a sustainable cadence for product delivery with focus on understanding the agile team's velocity.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 9 years' higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 5 years' related experience
  • Robust understanding of full-cycle product development within an Agile framework
  • Knowledge of statistics, data science techniques and tools, and relational databases
  • Knowledge and application of data architecture concepts
  • Experience with the application of data governance practices
  • Experience pulling, wrangling, and querying database using data analytic tools

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
  • Minimum of 1 years' data product experience
  • Fintech experience
  • Experience writing technical stories in agile project tracking software using industry standard notations
  • Understanding of specific domains as required by assignment
  • Knowledge of change management best practices
  • PROSCI Change Management certification
  • CSPO certification (Certified Scrum Product Owner)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $103,000.00 - $171,600.00 Annual (USD). The successful candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
