Project Supervisor - Construction (Monroe, CT)TEKsystems is partnering with a well-established construction company in the Monroe area to hire a Project Supervisor. This role is designed for candidates who have some prior construction experience or construction-related education and are looking to grow into a long-term career in construction supervision or project management.
This position focuses on field oversight, coordination, safety, quality control, and supporting daily project activities. It is not a tools-on role.
Job DescriptionThe Project Supervisor will work directly with project managers, field crews, and subcontractors to support day-to-day operations on active construction sites. This includes monitoring work quality, helping maintain a safe work environment, coordinating tasks, and ensuring crews have what they need to keep the project moving. The ideal candidate is someone early in their construction career who is eager to learn project oversight and take on greater responsibility over time.
Responsibilities- Support and oversee daily field activities as directed by project leadership
- Monitor jobsite safety and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards
- Review work for accuracy, quality, and adherence to project specifications
- Coordinate with crews, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Assist with planning, scheduling, and task coordination
- Identify issues or delays and escalate to project leadership
- Complete basic site documentation such as daily reports and progress updates
- Help maintain an organized, productive, and safe jobsite environment
Must-Have Qualifications- Prior construction experience or construction-related education (trade school, technical program, engineering tech coursework, etc.)
- Strong interest in advancing into construction supervision or project management
- Ability to communicate clearly with field teams and leadership
- Attention to detail with a strong focus on safety
- Problem-solving ability in a fast-paced field environment
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally in the Monroe area
Nice-to-Have- Experience supporting field crews or assisting foremen/supervisors
- Any exposure to electrical work or electrical construction
- Familiarity with reading plans, drawings, or construction documentation
