Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Field Technician to support structured cabling projects, network infrastructure installations, and hardware deployments across multiple client locations. This role is fully travel-based and requires continuous travel via air and ground transportation to customer sites. Please note, this is not a remote position; it is posted as such for nationwide visibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, terminate, label, and test structured cabling systems including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber optic, and low-voltage cabling
  • Perform cable routing, cable tray installation, rack and cabinet organization, and cable management according to industry standards
  • Install, configure, and deploy PCs, printers, scanners, network switches, wireless access points, and other endpoint devices
  • Conduct workstation setups, hardware replacements, equipment upgrades, and technology refresh projects
  • Perform OS installations, upgrades, imaging, and basic network device configuration
  • Troubleshoot cabling, connectivity, hardware, and software issues in a timely manner
  • Test and certify cable runs using appropriate testing equipment and document installation results
  • Assist with network infrastructure deployments, including patch panels, MDF/IDF buildouts, and equipment rack installations
  • Provide Tier 1 technical support and basic troubleshooting for end users and client personnel
  • Communicate technical issues clearly and professionally to customers, project managers, and team members
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment, especially within regulated facilities
  • Coordinate with project managers regarding project schedules, site readiness, workload, and status updates

Qualifications:

  • Must live within a reasonable distance of a major airport
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 100% of the time (flights and driving required)
  • Experience with structured cabling installations, terminations, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with network infrastructure components including switches, patch panels, wireless access points, and racks
  • Hands-on experience with PC hardware deployment, workstation setup, and peripheral installation
  • Ability to read floor plans, cabling diagrams, and installation documentation
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in healthcare, commercial, industrial, or other regulated environments is a plus
  • Strong work ethic, adaptability, and willingness to work in dynamic field environments
